Lithium-Ion Battery Test for EV’s
F-500 EA was tested on a lithium-ion battery set for use in electric vehicles by a car manufacturer. As you can see the fire is attacked aggressively and close up due to the rapid cooling effect of F-500 EA.

F500 EA @ 0.5% on Burning Car with TKO Nozzle (Interschutz 2015)
F-500 EA was presented at Interschutz 2015. The TKO nozzle is set at 0.5%. As you can see the fire is attacked aggressively and close up due to the rapid cooling effect of F-500 EA. A small fire develops under the seat due to the magnesium content but is swiftly extinguished with ‘no spitting’. Very little of the F-500 EA was used. Water used: 200l less the 140l in the hose, so actually only 60l of water were used. Please also note that the Fire Officer is taking off his glove and is able to touch the car. Again, this is only possible because of the cooling effect of F-500 EA.

Skip Fire
Skip contained approx 10 pallets and furniture (1 x 3 piece suite etc). Pre burn time: approx 10 minutes. In this case, the outside of the skip is cooled first with F-500. Extinguishing time: 30 seconds.
Large Tyre Fire
4 tractor tyres and 6 car tyres. Note how black smoke turns white (encapsulated and reduction of free radicals). Extinguishing time: 21 seconds. Tyres are immediately cool to the touch.

Car Fire
Car in a garage packed with 3 tyres and 3 pallets, doused in Aviation fuel. Again free radicals mitigated and smoke turned white. Hydrocarbons are encapsulated.
Extinguishing time: 24 seconds. Again, the car is cool enough to be touched.
Fire Wall
6.3 m x 3.1 m wall with running aviation fuel. The fire took 26 seconds to mitigate enough to switch off the fuel valve.
Magnesium Fire
2-3 kg of swarf consistency. No spitting when F-500 was applied. This is not possible with normal water-based solutions. Extinguishing time: 1 minute 46 seconds.
The magnesium was immediately cool to the touch.

Bioethanol (E85) Fire
320 litres of E85 (71 gallons).
E85 consists of 85% Ethanol and 15% petrol. F-500 encapsulates the hydrocarbons and cools at the same time.
Fuel totally neutralized and would not re-ignite later with a propane torch.
Extinguishing time: 4 minutes 7 seconds.
Large Bund – Fuselage Fire
Size of bund: 20m x 12m filled with 1,000 l of aviation fuel. Extinguishing time: approx 5 minutes
